Sarcasm Censors PET

Ah, I’ve done it again. Me and my warped, sarcastic streak!

I am a member of a few different forums. I replied to a recent post in which a contributor wrote of sending a poem to Sir Richard Branson, entiltled: My Heart Belongs to Branson,  and then went on to brag about receiving a personal response from Sir Richard himself.

In my customary manner I posted: ‘Don’t think yourself too fortunate; Sir Richard would reply to any woman.’

My post was deleted on the basis of it being ‘offensive’ despite my protestations that Sir Richard is, and was, synonymous with being associated with a bevy of women. Further, in a business environment, the entrepreneurial Sir Richard is renowned for his communicative ability to respond to all manner of people and issues.

It is worth noting that the original poster later expressed surprise at the deletion.

I suspect this is just another case of being ‘over-protective’ and the forum itself desirous of insulating itself from adverse reactions and controversy.

Will I change? Sorry, no, my character is set in stone!!

Writing is her lifeblood, but as experienced by many writers, there’s a shortfall of financial nutrients feeding the blood.
