Paperwork Day

Sunday morning and I’m trying to clear my desk to pave the way to a week of writing and editing.

First-up this morning, I headed out with my tiny Canon Powershot camera to take a few snaps of Estate Agent’s windows. This will form part of the cover for my next book, Whisper of Death. The selected photo will work hand-in-hand with hospital photos I shot yesterday. Strange combination? Strange writer!

Back to the paperwork. I have invoices and receipts scattered over my desk, my computer and even in a couple of plastic tubs. My study looks like the dashboard of a tradesman’s van. I am amazed that I can keep stories and drafts in specifically designated places, yet when it comes to important financial retention, I seem to be like a disadvantaged with his shopping trolley. Speaking of disadvantaged, please check out my new poem: Unwanted.

Once all that is finished, I have a competition entry to complete for Writing Magazine. I stole the protagonist’s name, ‘Penelope’ from my favourite sister-in-law’s hate list. Apologies to any reader with that wonderful name! I sometimes marvel at the way we sap inspiration through the others’ misfortunes!

Paige Elizabeth Turner

Paige writes across a variety of genres, but prefers to concentrate on her crime / mystery series featuring Private Investigator Olivia Watts and her Watts Happening? Investigations agency. Also dabbling in poetry, Paige produces emotive verse from romance through to environmental issues. Writing is her lifeblood, but as experienced by many writers, there’s a shortfall of financial nutrients feeding the blood.
