Just do it!

I recently read, and heard, of aspiring writers wanting to have ‘everything right’ before they begin a project. Perhaps we could liken it to them having their ‘house in order’.

But why? I wonder if those aspirants might be part of the wider group of excuse makers. Do we really need to have 500-page study of the local community we want to write about? Or what about this: ‘I want the kids off my hands first.’ And another: ‘I want to learn about my audience before I write.’ What audience!! We won’t have one unless we create one with worthy subject matter.

There is only one way to become a writer. In the famed words of Nike: Just do it!

Paige Elizabeth Turner
Paige writes across a variety of genres, but prefers to concentrate on her crime / mystery series featuring Private Investigator Olivia Watts and her Watts Happening? Investigations agency. Also dabbling in poetry, Paige produces emotive verse from romance through to environmental issues. Writing is her lifeblood, but as experienced by many writers, there’s a shortfall of financial nutrients feeding the blood.
